Who you are: You encompass Oak Valley Health’s core values and live the words of respect, trust, commitment, compassion and courage You are a patient and/or client centered individual who performs at an exemplary standard You are a team player with excellent communication, critical thinking and prioritization skills Closing Date: October 17th, 2025 What we need: Reporting to the Manager of Professional Practice, the Policy Advisor provides the leadership, facilitation and consultation necessary for the development, integration, review, revision and archiving of policies, procedures, medical directives, delegated acts and supporting documents. The Policy Advisor is responsible to develop the appropriate channels and processes for policies and procedures and to ensure documents are processed through the appropriate channels for consultation and endorsement for consistent and safe practice, and alignment with legislation, accreditation, professional and hospital standards. The Policy Advisor will provide support for the ongoing maintenance and required evolution of the electronic Policy Library. Duties and Responsibilities Include: Develop and oversee a standardized framework for developing, approving, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing policies, procedures, medical directives and delegated acts In collaboration with others, identify areas for development of policies and medical directives and delegated acts Lead and/or participate in development and review of specific policies, procedures, medical directives, and delegations Consult on the format, language, content and synthesis of policies and medical directives and delegated acts to ensure organizational consistency and inclusion of required details Serve as a resource for inquiries, both internal and external regarding policies Ensure that policies and procedures support the mission, vision and values of Oak Valley Health and integrate safe practices Review policies in response to legislative requirements, professional and organizational bylaws, rules and regulations, and accreditation standards and make recommendations/changes as appropriate Communicate updates to and development of new and revised policies and procedures and medical directives and delegations across the organization Promote awareness, understanding and acceptance of policies and procedures to stakeholders Develop, in collaboration with others, innovative methods for policy dissemination, implementation and evaluation Maintain external linkages within the health care industry and in policy forums to ensure that best practices, continuous quality improvement and risk mitigation processes are applied to the development, review and revision of policies, e.g. Canadian Policy and Procedure Network Oversee an electronic database, index and central repository of archived and existing policies, medical directives and delegated acts that is consistent with retention and storage requirements What you bring to Oak Valley Health: A post secondary degree in health care or a related field Recent and related experience in a hospital and policy development setting A strong understanding and knowledge of policy development within a hospital Knowledge of best practice related to policies and procedures, medical directives and delegated acts; ability to integrate innovative ideas in the development and implementation of the same A background in document research and development with ability to edit and provide critical feedback Ability to use Microsoft Office and database applications in the course of normal work duties Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication and presentation skills Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with leadership, staff and professional staff at all levels in the organization Work Schedule: 3 days a week, 7.5 hr days Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.
