Salary: $77.00 -$93.00 per hour (plus 6% vacation pay in lieu)

Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre (SOAHAC) is a diverse, dynamic, multiservice Indigenous health and wellness agency. We strive to provide quality, wholistic health services by sharing and promoting traditional and western health practices to enable people to live in a more balanced state of well-being. SOAHAC provides services to Indigenous people including those who live on and off reserve, status, non-status, Inuit, and Metis within the Southwest, Waterloo Wellington and Erie St Clair regions. SOAHAC has a mandate of ensuring that health services are accessible, of high quality, and are culturally appropriate. It is SOAHAC’s objective to build health care capacity within Indigenous communities. Currently, we are seeking the services of a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our interdisciplinary staff team based at our site in London, Ontario.
The Opportunity
SOAHAC is seeking a Full-Time Locum Nurse Practitioner for approximately 16 weeks to support our London site. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive primary care across the lifespan, focusing on accessibility, health promotion, illness prevention, and continuity of care for Indigenous clients and their families.
The Nurse Practitioner will work within a wholistic, integrated care model, collaborating with physicians, traditional healers, mental health professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure culturally safe, client-centred care.
Requirements:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (RN-EC) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner (PHC-NP) Certificate
Minimum 2 years of NP experience in primary care, chronic-disease management, or community health
Demonstrated knowledge and respect for Indigenous cultures, traditions, and the impacts of colonization on health and well-being
Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills
Proven ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
Computer literacy, including use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check and up-to-date immunizations
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive primary care services including assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions
Promote health and wellness through education, prevention, and early intervention
Advocate for equitable access to both traditional healing and western health services
Collaborate closely with physicians, mental health professionals, and traditional healers
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EMR systems
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and community outreach activities
