In this multifaceted position, you will serve as a technical consultant, assist in safety initiatives, and offer functional leadership while promoting operational excellence in personal safety. Minimum Requirements: 5 or more years experience as a safety advisor within the oil sands, experience with fixed plants is preferred Occupational Health and Safety training and/or certifications (such as OH&S, NCSO, CHSEP, CRSP, etc.) Ability to build key relationships with cross-functional, internal, and external stakeholders A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day support for health, and safety (H&S) on-site safety programs, procedures, safe work practices, campaigns, etc. Participate in hazard and control inventory and risk register population and management for H&S hazards, aspects, impacts and risks Interpret and apply H&S regulations that govern the activities, products, and services of the facility to assist leaders in reflecting due diligence in decision making Anticipate, identify, evaluate, and contribute to both proactive and reactive controls to mitigate risk Devise practical and economical solutions to a broad range of health and safety challenges Develop or enhance and then implement standardized processes and systems Establish priorities and performance targets Coach and mentor front-line leaders in areas of core H&S responsibility and competency support Conduct investigations into incidents and suggesting measures to avert future occurrences Be knowledgeable in Human and Organization Performance (HOP) principles and application Location and other Key Details: You will work out of Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday Why Suncor?
