About the Team:
Nicola Real Estate (NRE), a division of Nicola Wealth, sources and manages properties for the Nicola Wealth real estate portfolios, offering clients of Nicola Wealth an exclusive opportunity to invest in real estate with an experienced management team.
NRE is a leading platform for real estate investment, development and management, with a portfolio comprised of over $10.1 Billion of assets and in excess of 20 million square feet under management and/or development. Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated student with a commitment to excellence, a demonstrated interest in real estate, and strong analytical skills, who thrives in a team setting to join our summer rotational program as a Real Estate Intern. The Real Estate Intern will rotate between the real estate Investment, Asset Management, and Development teams, as we seek new investment opportunities and manage the real estate Funds to generate strong risk adjusted returns for Nicola Wealth clients.
This is an on-site role, based in our Vancouver offices for a duration of four months.
Core Responsibilities:
Investments
Supporting the Investment team in the evaluation of acquisition and disposition opportunities
Contributing to due diligence on potential investments including:
New market analysis
Industry research and analysis
Property-level analysis
Preparing pitch decks for new investment opportunities and presentations
Maintaining a data base of recent sale and lease transactions
Asset Management
Supporting the Asset Management team in the operation and management of the NRE portfolios
Monitoring the performance of existing assets
Undertaking research on valuation trends for specific property types and markets
Verifying accuracy of leasing platform data and reviewing lease related documents
Development
Support the Development team in administration and coordination of current NRE projects
Coordinate meetings, prepare scheduled agendas, record meeting minutes and distribute to the project team
Liaise with consultants, community members and project stakeholders
Prepare correspondence, memos, presentations and reports
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Enrolled in an undergraduate program entering 3rd or 4th year.
Finance specialization considered an asset.
Works well in a collaborative team environment.
Prior experience in commercial real estate is considered an asset, but not required.
You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.
Compensation & Benefits Package:
This position comes with a competitive salary of $26 per hour.
