As a member of the healthcare team, the Medical Administrative Assistant provides clerical, administrative or business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care.
- Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent or equivalent office experience
- Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or equivalent, which may be subject to testing
- 1 year recent experience in general or medical office administration
- Keyboarding 60 wpm
- Knowledge and skill in using computer required (expert skill in EPIC)
- Strong administrative and organizational background with an ability to prioritize, multi-task, schedule, and carry out tasks with strong attention to detail
- Effective and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem-solving skills
- Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly
- Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
- Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position
- Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending
