Position Title: Lift Operator/Attendant (Seasonal)

Job Summary: Lift Operator/Attendants are responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous operation of Chicopee’s ski lifts during the winter season. As the first point of contact for many guests, this role requires a strong focus on guest safety, communication, and attention to detail. The role will be responsible for assisting with loading and unloading procedures, monitoring lift operations, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining clear and safe lift access areas
Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensure the safe transport of guests by operating lifts according to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
Monitor and assist with the loading and unloading of passengers.
Conduct and document daily inspections, logbooks, and operating records.
Operate lift stop/start mechanisms and communicate clearly via intercom and radio when required.
Remain alert and vigilant to detect and respond to unsafe conditions or guest issues.
Enforce lift safety rules and maintain guest control in loading zones.
Check tickets and manage lift access gates as required.
Maintain snow surfaces at loading and unloading zones.
Shovel and salt walkways, lift entry points, and adjacent areas as needed.
Keep lift areas clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
Assist with snow and ice management in accordance with safety standards.
Attend all required pre-season department training and corporate training sessions.
Assist other departments during high-demand periods, as directed by the Supervisor or Director of Operations.
Maintain clear and professional communication with team members and supervisors, including radio contact for emergencies only.
Adhere to Chicopee’s standards of service, safety, and appearance
Key Qualifications:
You are 16 years of age or older
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physically fit and able to lift up to 20.4 kg (45 lbs) repeatedly.
Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks in extreme winter weather conditions.
Clear and concise verbal communication.
Ability to remain focused, calm, and responsive in high-pressure situations.
Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded.
Prior experience in lift operation or winter recreation is an asset, but not required.
Additional Requirements:
A passion for the recreation and winter sports industry.
Strong people skills — approachable, a good listener, and empathetic.
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional shift coverage.
Must be comfortable working outdoors in cold, snowy, or wet conditions for extended periods.
You will be provided a Chicopee Uniform Jacket upon receipt of $100 refundable deposit and signed Chicopee Uniform Agreement.
You will provide your own black (no logo) snow pants and provide your own other uniform layer items in compliance with our uniform policy.
