Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing equipment problems and completing maintenance and repairs on all company vehicles and heavy-duty equipment including snow cats, loaders and excavators.
Wage: $41.87
Job Responsibilities:
- Regular inspections and maintenance of all wheeled vehicles, over snow equipment, and stationary engines
- Must be knowledgeable and show a proficient ability to troubleshoot
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively with colleagues and other departments
- Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment
- Participate in maintaining a high standard of safety
- Assist in all vehicle and equipment maintenance projects and work with contractors as required
- Operate all fleet vehicles in order to evaluate the results of previously performed maintenance
- Complete work orders and projects as assigned
- Accurate record keeping of regular inspections, maintenance, and projects
- Work closely with Mountain Operations, Mechanical Services, Parts / Purchasing, and in cooperation with all other resort departments
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Valid Red Seal Journeyperson’s Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Technician Certification
- Minimum 1-2 years previous experience is required
- Previous snow cat experience is an asset
- Intermediate to advanced skiing/snowboarding skills are an asset
- Must have the ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Must possess accurate verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Safety oriented
- Able to work supervised & unsupervised
- Valid Driver’s license (class 5)
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
- First aid certificate an asset
- A police background check, from your home country or province, will be required upon commencement of employment
