Our Water/Wastewater group is looking for a Site Representative to join our team in Toronto.
Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Contract Administrator, the Site inspection duties for the project include the following:
Carry out daily inspections and prepare daily inspection reports, summarizing all daily progress, identifying deficiencies of work and corrective action taken.
Keep records of all pertinent quality control records, including but not limited to soils, granular material, concrete, concrete aggregates and structures quality.
Monitoring of quality and quantity of delivered materials and ensure supporting documentation is collected.
Keep records of equipment installation and testing
Monitor /audit records of the contractor’s quality control plan.
Review engineering drawings and contract documents.
Monitor and report on Contractor’s progress through photographic and record keeping. Providing weekly report with summary photos to the Contract Administrator for review
Assist with monitoring and reviewing the quality of red-line drawings, as-built drawings and contract documentation provided by contractors for compliance with contract specifications.
Attending project and construction meetings, assisting with preparing meeting notes, as required.
Respond to site inquiries/request or information.
Review and process contract extra work claims.
Review monthly progress payments.
Communicate with the RVA’s Contract Administrator, Project Manager, RVA disciplines and 3rd party inspection/testing firms.
Liaise with clients, contractors and the public as required.
Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of RVA’s and Client’s Health & Safety requirements and the applicable Provincial Legislations
Qualifications:
Completion of a Community College Diploma with Canadian accreditation as a graduate of a 3-year college level civil engineering technologist program or a 2-year civil engineering technician program, or an undergraduate degree in Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Membership or eligibility for membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists is an asset.
2-3 years of experience in water and wastewater facilities construction is a preferred asset.
Knowledge of contract language, drawings and specifications
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written;
Must have a valid G license and a reliable vehicle.
Must possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
Must be able to follow directions and follow up on unresolved items
Understanding construction and foreseeable risks an asset .
