About the Role:
Corus’ Legal, Regulatory and Governance team is looking for a Corporate Law Clerk (or Senior Corporate Law Clerk depending on experience) to lead the corporate records function for Corus and its many affiliates. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our minute book and regulatory filings framework and act in a corporate secretarial function for certain subsidiaries and assist with other corporate governance matters.
You will contribute by:
Organizing, enhancing and maintaining a large minute book library.
Maintaining and enhancing Corus’ digital corporate records and filings.
Directing external regulatory filings and fee payments.
Working with other departments to meet corporate obligations (for example, the Taxation Group).
Acting as corporate secretary for certain subsidiaries of Corus.
Coordinating with other team members who support the library.
Effectively engaging and working with broad range of stakeholders internally and externally.
Other related duties, as assigned.
Skills and experience you bring:
Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience in private practice or in-house with federal and/or Ontario corporations.
Experience with regulated entities an asset (for example, CRTC or similar).
Demonstrated record of organizing and maintaining large, digital minute book libraries.
Enhanced understanding of the regulatory environment for corporate records and filing requirements.
Membership in the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario is a definitive asset.
Experience with corporate real estate is an asset.
