Senior Accountant – Consolidation (CPA)
Strategic accounting opportunity in the mining industry supporting financial consolidation for a global organization. Leverage your CPA designation, IFRS expertise, and consolidation experience in a high-impact role based in Montreal. Hybrid schedule with bilingual responsibilities and a strong international scope.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $60-69 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $70-80 per hour.
• 6-month contract position.
• Full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
• Additional hours expected during month-end and year-end close.
• Hybrid work with a minimum of 3 in-office days per week at a downtown Montréal office.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the monthly consolidation of global product groups.
• Analyze consolidated financial statements to ensure compliance with IFRS and internal requirements.
• Provide financial reporting to senior management.
• Deliver HFM guidance and accounting advice to improve performance within the controllership and finance service teams.
• Ensure Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) compliance and support SOX/substantive audit processes.
• Guide and train internal and offshore teams on reporting processes.
• Conduct training sessions and support continuous knowledge sharing.
• Drive innovation and process improvements using data analytics and digital tools.
• Collaborate with global teams across different time zones.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Accounting certification CPA or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in financial consolidation within a multinational, multi-currency environment.
• Strong understanding of IFRS.
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is an asset.
• Experience preparing consolidated statements of cash flows is an asset.
• Knowledge of accounting for financial assets and liabilities is an asset.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including variance analysis.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work across global teams and time zones.
• Bilingual in English and French to communicate effectively with both local and international stakeholders, and to review and prepare financial reports in both languages.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• SAP experience is beneficial.
