Key job responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive tax planning strategies for new Amazon product launches
and business features across multiple operational domains
- Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, public policy, accounting, and
business partner teams to ensure tax-efficient and compliant business operations
- Analyze complex tax scenarios and design innovative solutions that support
business objectives
- Research and draft tax opinions to support positions
- Manage engagements with outside tax counsel
- Identify opportunities for tax policy change

About the team
We are a collaborative and forward-thinking group of tax professionals dedicated
to supporting Amazon's expansive business operations. We develop meaningful
relationships with our business partners and other key stakeholders and help
find novel, creative and innovative solutions to complex tax challenges. Our
team thrives on intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking. We value both
independent work and team collaboration, creating an environment where
innovative thinking meets practical execution. We are flexible and adapt quickly
to change. Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of tax, finance or a related
analytical field experience
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national
corporate tax department
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years experience in providing complex Canadian indirect tax planning advice
across a range of different industries at a large multinational, law firm, or
large public accounting firm Preferred Qualifications: - You love to find
creative, technically sound solutions to complex problems, and can easily pivot
your focus to different types of work and relevant tax rules
- You have high standards and value delivering high-quality work that requires
little revision
- You are self-motivated and need little direction to understand and complete
tasks
- You distill facts from documents and discussions and understand key flows and
the big picture quickly, and can articulate issues and proposed solutions in a
clear and logical way
- You are organized, have excellent research and analysis skills, but know when
to ask for help if you’ve hit a roadblock
- You have a good sense of humour and common sense

The base salary for this position ranges from $89,200/year up to $149,000/year.
Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of
compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in
addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
