Position Summary
Under the general direction of Director of Operations, this position is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the gaming operation on a shift basis while establishing and contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Is responsible for assisting with the planning and directing of slots operations, ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and assists in providing a learning environment. Assists with developing performance objectives and delivering performance evaluations, assists with the implementation all new slot operations initiatives. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Provides input for team member performance objectives and evaluations
Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to all department team members
Schedules and supervises team members, edits timesheets for payroll
Oversees team member training and assigns shift work assignments
Monitors shift work assignments
Resolves customer disputes; reports irregularities, disputes and suspicious activities; prepares CRS Incident Reports
Implements all new operations initiatives as directed
Actively participates in the recruitment and hiring process
Maintains departmental inventories and supplies
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and team members)
Responsible for driving an increase in VIP carded play by promoting and signing up guests for our Encore Rewards and Prive programs
Explains the benefits and privileges of using a player’s card to VIP (Prive/non-Prive) guests with a superior level of service excellence
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Manages other initiatives as required
Education and Qualifications
Post Secondary education or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
Minimum 2 years of experience in slot or cage operations
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience
Serving it Right Certification
Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
Ability to successfully obtain Gaming Security Officer certification
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
Computer literacy in MS Office
Literacy in CARRS, TABS3 and Kronos an asset
Work Environment Considerations
Regular casino environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, and non-traditional work hours
