The ETS Navigator is responsible for the delivery of services for individuals seeking assistance through the Indigenous Skills & Employment Training Strategy (ISETS) agreement, the Pre-Employment Support (PES) program, and the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training (ICT).  The incumbent can expect to be assigned to either program or future programs, dependent on the operational needs of ETS.  This individual will assist clients and their families in transition to the urban setting from rural and reserve communities for the purposes of obtaining skills development, education, training, and employment opportunities.  The incumbent can expect to be assigned to a combination of rural and urban responsibilities and STC member nations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients and clients’ families to connect with urban resources including housing, childcare, and transportation to facilitate their transition from rural to the urban setting;
- Case manage clients for training and employment including skills assessment, development, and improvement plans with follow-up on a regular monthly basis;
- Manage the activities and functions of an assigned caseload of ETS clients;
- Match potential employee candidates with appropriate jobs through the use of assessment tools, action plans, and worker preparation activities such as resumes, interview skills, and other work readiness activities;
- Maintain client case files and records that track the progress of individual client’s employment progress, successful integration of family with supports and services, and successful training interventions including the use of the database and other tracking tools employed by the ETS department;
- Liaise with training institutions, employers, and agencies on behalf of the client and be an advocate; 
- Provide interventions with both client and employer that assist in job retention strategies; this may include helping employers understand the specific needs of new workers, or helping new employees adapt to the workplace culture and understand the expectations of the employer;
- Prepare required documentation where the client has requested training sponsorship or funding assistance;
- Maintain client case management files as per funding agency standards and confidentiality requirements;
- Working in cooperation with the ETS staff to facilitate workshops and group sessions on orientation, skill enhancement, and job search strategies;
- Collaborate with other STC programs and staff, and external agencies to provide appropriate support for clients and families;
- Attend and participate in Professional Development Training as assigned or required;
- Attend all staff and team meetings as required and assigned by senior management;
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and ensure client follow-up as required by management in a timely manner, and;
- Perform other related duties as defined and assigned by the reporting Director or designate on an as and when required basis.
