Group Summary: The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling. Job Responsibilities: Packaging • Manage and review new and returnable packaging programs. • Review and ensure compliance to customer supplied packaging specifications. • Generate packaging specifications to support customer and Techform requirements • Work with packaging suppliers to develop new and innovative packaging methods as appropriate to Techform. • Develop new packaging systems to reduce packaging costs and packaging densities. • Develop or direct development of sketches, specifications, samples, and written analysis of proposed packaging in order to present design for approval • Assist with improving rack design to improve optimization, increase density of return shipments • Prepare and interpret CAD designs, drawings, and specifications for packaging based on part characteristics and line side racks and components. • Consult with establishment's Purchasing, Materials and Production departments to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging. • Maintain packaging databases for all customers. • Maintain packaging instructions in Techform databases for customer shipments • Review packaging requirements and maintain packaging system to support ergonomics. • Develop supply base incorporating returnable packaging. • Generate capital projects for packaging as required. • Generate a documented procedure to define and control the labelling and packaging of Techform raw material and finished product. • Develop, test, and approve packaging for all raw material with consideration for standardization, point of use, replenishment cycle, product security, ergonomics, recycling, waste disposal and cubic flow • Resolve packaging quality issues with corrective and permanent actions for raw material and final product. • Track costs and documentation associated with required packaging deviations to ensure recovery from the appropriate source. Material Flow • Document and maintain current and proposed process flows. • Take a lead role in improving material flow. • Develop and implement new processes and procedures as needed to support changing business demands. • Facilitate the implementation of change processes and streamline current practices to improve efficiency and capability • Assist in inspection of mechanical installations and construction of racking system • Assist with improvement or automation of existing processes as required in order to achieve less manpower and improved cycle time, material flow and ergonomics General • Comply with defined Business Management and Environmental Management Systems requirements. • Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Techform. • Provide support in the attainment of Techform's operating system goals as outlined by the key graphs. • Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction. • Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designate. Key Qualifications/Requirements • Completion of related post-secondary education. • 3 to 5 years of work related experience.
