Project Lead (Internal Non-Violent Prevention Program) – Chatham or Sarnia (1 person from each site)
As the Project Lead, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of an internal Non-Violent Prevention Program tailored to our agency's needs. The initiative aimed to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to safely de-escalate situations, foster a culture of safety and respect, and comply with regulatory standards.
Reporting to the Program Manager, your key responsibilities included:
Conducting needs assessments and gathering input from stakeholders to inform program design.
Researching best practices in non-violent crisis intervention and workplace safety.
Developing a comprehensive training curriculum, including a PowerPoint, and in-person workshop.
Piloting and refining the program based on feedback and observed outcomes.
Becoming an internal trainer to deliver ongoing staff training and support.
Collaborating with HR and leadership to embed the program into onboarding and professional development.
Evaluating program effectiveness through staff feedback, and continuous improvement processes.
Hours of Work and Compensation
Total hours for project lead time and implementation – 35-50 hours for research and pulling project together. Time will be tracked on a tracker and reviewed with Program Manager
$2.50 per hour stipend
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
Post-secondary degree in Social Work from an accredited university with current registration with the O.C.S.W.S.S.W; a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with current registration with the C.NO. (Preference to those with Canadian Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing); Bachelor’s Degree with a Social Service Worker Diploma and a current registration with the O.C.S.W.S.S.W; or a post-secondary degree with a relevant professional registration; or Grandfathered Post-Secondary Degree.
A minimum of five years’ experience and a detailed knowledge of serious mental illness.
Experience with Change Management
Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of CMHA specific programs, comprehensive assessment, and mental health services as well as in-depth knowledge of complex clinical issues
Experience with project management is an asset
