Responsibilities
Sales
Participate in sales meetings with customers and suppliers,
Site visits to customers’ facilities to assess processes and equipment,
Generate estimates, proposals and quotations,
Proactively follow up with customers after sending quotations to gauge interest and address any further inquiries.
Projects
Manage projects from inception through to commissioning, including the tracking and reporting on progress for Hydrochloric Acid Pickling Line proposals & projects,
Design of various systems within the pickling process, including piping, fume extraction, instrumentation & control, and structural. It is not expected that the incumbent would have experience in all these different fields, but a basic knowledge of most,
Preparing and checking drawings in AutoCAD for any of the process systems, including some wiring and instrumentation drawings as required,
Assessing supplier bids and terms of sale, negotiating contracts and managing third-party manufacturing orders (including site inspections),
Assist in installation of equipment, commissioning and start up. May require several weeks onsite at the customer’s facility.
Continuously improve the design of equipment and processes.
Travel will be mostly in Canada, USA or Mexico, but may also include other parts of the world.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
P. Eng or eligibility to receive their license will be preferred.
Qualifications
Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineer with minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial setting.
Experience with piping systems is a preferred asset. Knowledge in electrical, instrumentation, foundations or structural steelwork would be beneficial.
Experience with AutoCAD and good skills with MS Office applications.
Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to solve issues reported during all aspects of the project.
Demonstrated ability to develop and improve processes and increase efficiency.
Excellent communication skills (Oral, Written, Presentation) with ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Valid driving license and passport, as travelling outside of Canada is required.
