We are currently seeking an Accountant to add to our team in Vaughan, ON. Reporting directly to the Manager, Accounting, you will bring strong accounting and analysis experience to this team and will be a critical part of our month-end/year-end closing activities. You will partner closely with other departments and service organizations to contribute to the success of the company. Your Contributions to the Organization will be to: Oversight of the supplier rebate’s function: coordinate with pricing team to ensure rebates are set up correctly in ERP system, monthly review of supplier rebate calculations, send out reports to suppliers and ensure that rebates are claimed in a timely manner. Prepare and review monthly internal financial reports (e.g. legal P&L, forecasts, etc.). Prepare and post monthly journal entries and perform month-end close activities. Responsible for system maintenance activities related to accounting – accounts set up, month/quarter/year-end period closing etc. Prepare, review, and reconcile a number of balance sheet accounts, identifying risk and potential write-offs or release to the P&L. Complete monthly and quarterly reporting packages for US head office (e.g. SEC reporting). Support the annual budget and forecasting process in the stated areas of responsibility. Internal and external audit support. Implement external audit recommendations. Assist in special projects/ad hoc requests from business as needed. Backup daily Treasury functions including setting up wires, cash reporting and forecasting. Backup for Tax Consultant in matters related to commodity & realty taxes, insurance, and statistics Canada filings. Problem solving and issue escalation as needed. All other duties as required. This Job might be for you if: CPA (CA. CGA, CMA) designation or close to completion with at least 3 to 5 years in accounting, preferred. Knowledge of SAP, Concur and Blackline is an asset. Strong accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to clearly identify issues and bring them to a resolution. Self-starter with a process improvement mindset in the work performed. Experience in Medical Segment, distribution organization and/or large multinational organization is an asset. Expert Excel skills with ability to work through significant volumes of data. Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to partner successfully with third party organizations, finance, and other departments. Driven, customer-focused and result-oriented individual.
