To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you'll be doing As a member of the Equity Markets Technology team, the Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the delivery of highly complex, strategic technology projects and governance initiatives. This includes comprehensive planning, advanced reporting, financial management, and ensuring the alignment of project outcomes with CIBC’s business objectives. The Senior IT Project Manager applies analytical approaches to problem-solving, establishes and maintains relationships with clients, senior management, and project teams, and provides executive-level status updates and progress reports to stakeholders to effectively manage expectations related to scope, timeline, and regulatory constraints. How you'll succeed Project Management – Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan. Delivery Focused – Work closely with internal partners to determine, negotiate and manage projects to the agreed upon timeline. Monitor finances identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate solutions. Under your leadership implement projects in a timely fashion that are of high quality, low cost and on budget. Collaboration – Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Coach and mentor your teams as you work toward a common goal. Negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary. Project Coordination – Proactively identify risks to the project schedule and find ways to mitigate them. Monitor milestones; ensure they are completed according to timelines and budgets. Execute a project plan that strikes the right balance between budget, time, and risk. Relationships – Develop trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners. Who you are You can demonstrate at least 8+ years of progressive IT project management experience, including at least 5 years in capital markets or financial services technology. Demonstrated ability to manage project financials, forecasting, and budgeting for large-scale initiatives. Proven track record managing enterprise-level, cross-portfolio projects in a matrixed environment. Advanced experience with waterfall and agile methodologies, deep knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC), and hands-on expertise with project management and issue management tools such as Planview, Confluence, and JIRA.
