About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a Gasfitter (Junior Operator-Service), where you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient installation, inspection, adjustment, and servicing of natural gas equipment. This includes meters, regulators, piping, appliances, and related components of the gas utility system.
What You Get to Do:
Install and service natural gas equipment, interpreting technical specifications to determine necessary materials and equipment.
Plan and execute installation, inspection, and maintenance projects for gas systems.
Respond to service requests and emergency situations, ensuring the safety of all involved.
Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance on gas regulating and odorization facilities.
Investigate gas leaks, odors, and related incidents.
Engage in the operation and maintenance of gas utility equipment and facilities.
Perform quality assurance checks and inspections on work completed by other departments and contractors.
Maintain accurate documentation and records of all service activities.
What You Bring:
Grade 12 or G.E.D.
Class A Alberta Gasfitter Ticket
Class B Alberta Gasfitter Ticket will also be considered
Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and natural gas industry codes.
Ability to interpret plans, working drawings and material specification
Willingness to be on stand-by for emergencies and participate in shift schedules extending into evenings and weekends.
Related experience in the upstream gas utility system, meter reading and AMR devices is an asset.
