Location & Flexibility
Our Manager, AI Insights, is a key member of our team at TELUS Digital. To help retain our deep culture of collaboration, this role will maintain an in-office presence in a hybrid capacity (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays). This role can be located in Vancouver, BC.
The Opportunity
As a Manager, AI Insights, you will lead a high-performing team of data scientists and AI engineers focused on delivering innovative, production-ready solutions that drive measurable business impact. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and team mentorship to turn complex business challenges into AI-driven outcomes.
You'll play a key role in shaping the direction of AI initiatives across the organization—bringing together cloud technology, natural language processing (NLP), and large language models (LLMs) to create real-world value. From aligning on business objectives to championing new technologies and fostering a collaborative team culture, you’ll be at the center of both innovation and execution.
Whether you're partnering with stakeholders to define high-impact projects or supporting your team in solving complex technical problems, you’ll ensure AI solutions are scalable, ethical, and aligned with organizational goals. You’ll also act as a bridge between business and technical teams—translating sophisticated ideas into actionable solutions and cultivating cross-functional relationships to drive adoption.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of AI and data professionals. Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture. Balance multiple priorities while maintaining focus on strategic goals.
Technology & Innovation: Stay current with advancements in AI, NLP, LLMs, and cloud technologies. Identify and evaluate emerging tools and practices to keep the team ahead of the curve. Drive innovation while ensuring alignment with business needs and scalability.
Business Impact: Partner with stakeholders to translate business challenges into AI-driven solutions. Deliver projects that create measurable value, such as customer experience improvements, operational efficiencies, or revenue growth. Ensure AI solutions are production-ready, ethical, and impactful.
Communication & Collaboration: Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders. Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, accessible way. Build strong relationships across functions to ensure alignment and adoption of AI initiatives.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience leading data science or AI/ML teams, with proven team management and mentoring success.
Demonstrated success in applying AI/ML to deliver real-world, production-level business solutions.
Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Hands-on understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
Strong stakeholder management and exceptional communication skills.
Positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to bring energy and team spirit to everyday work.

Annual Performance Bonus
This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus based on personal, division/business unit, and company performance. The range displayed is only the annual base salary. To maintain equity across the business, annual performance bonus targets are determined by job level, not individual circumstances.
Individual base salaries are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons determined during the interview process. Salary bands are periodically reviewed and updated based on market changes, internal needs, and industry trends. To maintain pay equity for team members, TELUS Digital conducts regular compensation audits.
Annual Base Salary Range (Performance Bonus Eligible)
$110,400—$138,000 CAD
