As a documentation technician, you will carry out technical tasks relating to the acquisition, processing, exploitation and control of information resources. It applies and collaborates in the updating of the policies, regulations and procedures in force, and ensures compliance with the regulations of the Documentation Centre. It participates in the reception of users, in the various operations of the counter and in the reference service offered by the Documentation Centre. It also participates in the various ancillary missions entrusted to the Documentation Centre.
Status: Permanent full-time – 38 weeks
Schedule: 35 hours/week
Salary: Between $26.63 - $34.45 hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
Enters data into integrated library management software (PortFolio) for monographs, periodicals and electronic resources;
Performs cataloguing (RDA), indexing (RVM) and classification (Dewey) of new acquisitions and corresponding descriptive records;
Performs tasks related to the preparation of documents, all formats combined. (Stamping, anti-theft system, marking of the call number, affixing of the barcode, lamination.) ;
Performs various tasks related to the selection and acquisition of all documents (physical media and databases): evaluation of relevance and costs, bibliographic checks, choice of supplier, subscription renewals;
Manages the budget: verifies, collaborates and monitors the statements of accounts;
The enhancement of collections and services.
Participates in the various projects of the Documentation Center.
The creation and maintenance of guides, procedures and reference documents for use by the College's administrative staff;
Perform all other related tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in documentation technology or a diploma whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority;
Have relevant experience (in education, an asset);
Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT);
Fluency in the French language (oral and written);
Proficiency in the English language at a professional level (oral and written).
This role involves frequent interactions with internal and external customers and partners on a national and global scale. Professional proficiency in English is therefore a requirement for this role.
