Detailed OverviewSupporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
Provides support to managers and new hires by a single contact to bring on-board new hires to Fraser Health. Applies human resource procedures, processes and collective agreement provisions pertaining to employment and hiring processes and benefit enrollment; completes all aspects of processing for new hires through external postings.
Responsibilities - Processes and maintains all information relating to the new hire process, including benefit assignment, creation and administration of employee profile, new hire documentation, salary verification and entitlements under a variety of Collective Agreements and Employment Contracts.
- Provides information and direction to employees and managers regarding the new hire process, applicable Portability provisions, and benefit plans; prepares and distributes benefit entitlement information.
- Processes all external hires by making salary determination in consultation with the Nursing Client Partners for Registered Nurses and Allied Health and with the Client Partners for all hires in the Management and Management Support Staff portfolio.
- Composes, prepares and processes relevant files, documents and correspondence such as letters regarding appointments, employment offers, benefits entitlements and external new hire lists.
- Conducts human resources research and analysis; participates in confidential projects as requested; gathers and consolidates a variety of statistical information; provides summaries of data as requested.
- Evaluates procedures, makes recommendations and implements revised methods to improve human resources administration in areas of responsibility.
- Participates in human resource management issues by dealing directly with manager/employee inquiries for all new hires throughout the on-boarding service period.
- Initiates, maintains and updates employee vacancy competition files; purges files that are completed ensuring their retention for approved period of time.
- Responds to a variety of requests for information and assistance from internal and external contacts; prepares relevant correspondence as required.
- Checks back with all new hires at end of on-boarding service period to advise on service contacts for ongoing assistance.
QualificationsEducation and Experience
Diploma in Human Resource Management or a directly related discipline, plus two (2) years recent, related experience or and equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Proficiency in the use of personal computers utilizing a variety of related software applications.
- Knowledge of human resource practices and relevant collective agreements.

- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to type 50 wpm.
- Thorough knowledge of office methods and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with staff and public effectively.
- Ability to work independently.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
