The Opportunity: Supervisor, SCC
Permanent, Full-Time unit position, based out of Whitehorse, Yukon.
Compensation: Level 10: $54.13/hr-$64.64/hr PLUS Northern Allowance.

Yukon Energy is hiring a Supervisor, System Control Centre (SCC) to lead real-time operations, mentor system operators, and support grid reliability for communities across the North.
Who we are: Yukon Energy is the primary generator and transmitter of electrical energy in the Yukon territory, operating within the Traditional Territories of Yukon First Nations. What will you do: Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Supervisor, System Control Centre (SCC) will:
- Lead and support System Operators in the safe, reliable real-time operation of Yukon’s power system.
- Oversee system dispatch, grid monitoring, and operational decision-making during normal and emergency conditions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, water license requirements, and other operational regulations.
- Coordinate daily system activities with internal teams, ATCO Electric Yukon, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and industrial customers.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and training to SCC staff to maintain operational readiness and performance.
- Support system planning initiatives, outage coordination, and continuous improvement of SCC procedures.
- Uphold a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and accountable operations within the control room.
What you need to succeed:
- Journey industrial electrical certification or power system electrical certification with extensive experience in power system control environment.
- Demonstrated leadership/supervisory skills.
- Proven oral, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Good organization and administrative skills.
- A proven track record and commitment to safe procedures and encouraging a safe work environment.
- Certification in WHIMS, TDG and rigging and hoisting.
- Computer skills to operate Windows software applications such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint. SCADA programming would be an asset.
- Strong client service orientation with good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- A valid class 5 drivers license.
- A valid First Aid certificate.
- Ability to work in a team and cross-cultural environment.
