We’re looking for a compassionate, detail-driven leader to oversee food service operations in a long-term care facility. As Food Service Director, you’ll ensure that every meal supports health, comfort, and dignity — while leading a team that takes pride in serving residents and families.
This role blends hands-on leadership with strategic oversight, making it ideal for someone who thrives in healthcare hospitality and wants to make a meaningful impact every day.
What You’ll Do
• Lead and support food service, housekeeping, and laundry teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service• Partner with dietitians and healthcare staff to ensure meals meet specialized dietary needs• Build strong relationships with residents, families, and staff — listening, responding, and adapting with care• Manage budgets, control costs, and monitor financial performance• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and healthcare regulations• Recruit, train, and coach team members to grow their skills and confidence• Respond to resident feedback and satisfaction surveys with thoughtful menu updates and service improvements• Maintain accurate records and support audits and inspections
What You Bring
• 4+ years of experience in food service, with at least 1–3 years in a leadership role• Previous experience in healthcare or long-term care settings• Strong communication and relationship-building skills• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and healthcare compliance standards• Ability to manage budgets, analyze financial reports, and lead cost control initiatives• A hands-on, empathetic leadership style that inspires trust and teamwork• Flexibility to work event-based hours and support a dynamic care environment• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
