We are recruiting forma Senior Manager, Legal Solutions, to join our team in our Toronto office. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of legal/business experience and will be responsible for managing legal solutions and projects aligned with the Firm’s strategic direction, executing the Firm’s strategy regarding legal AI tools (including Generative AI), and participating in the evaluation, implementation and adoption of new tools. As a Senior Manager, Legal Solutions, you will be:
Managing legal solutions, priorities and projects in accordance with the Firm’s strategic direction.
Executing the Firm’s strategy with respect to legal AI tools, including Generative AI tools.
Identifying existing and emerging client and lawyer pain points and working with lawyers, clients, other functional groups at the Firm, MT>3, MT>Align, MT>Wren (a new division focused on optimization of high volume and routine transactional workflows) and other MT>Divisions to implement (or improve) legal processes and technology to solve these pain points.
Participating in the evaluation, implementation and adoption of new tools.
Providing post-implementation support and continuing change management advice for legal solutions.
Working with the Firm’s Professional Journey Office to develop training materials such as enhanced legal workflows to promote knowledge and accelerate training for legal professionals at the Firm on legal technology and other legal optimization approaches.
Expanding on the Firm’s use of its current legal technology platforms, including CoCounsel and other broad Generative AI platforms.
Staying up-to-date on new legal technology and maintaining awareness of new developments and market trends.
Building and maintaining relationships with key and emerging technology vendors.
Collaborating with other teams (e.g., pricing, MT divisions) to develop holistic client solutions, focusing on the technology component and integrating other workflow or pricing changes as needed.
As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:
LL. B or J.D. required.
Minimum 8 years of legal/business experience. At least 3 years of experience in legal practice.
Relevant experience in a professional services or large corporate environment required.
Experience managing others preferred.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage others.
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Bilingualism (English and French) preferred.
Strong legal industry acumen.
Technologically savvy.
Client service focused.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment.
Ability to think strategically and perform well in dealing with ambiguity.
Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and recommend and implement solutions. Proven critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
