Overview
Adastra is seeking an experienced Digital/Mobile Solution Architect to support our client’s Home and Auto Insurance mobile applications. This role will focus on the evolution of the client’s insurance mobile app, to drive the application modernization and enable new business capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both hybrid and native mobile application frameworks, with a strong understanding of mobile and enterprise architecture principles. Understanding of and experience in the insurance domain is highly desirable.
Location: Toronto
Work Mode: Hybrid 4-days/week on-site; 1 day / week - remote
Status: Contract
Responsibilities:
Architect and design the mobile application, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and developers, to define scalable, secure, user-centric mobile solutions
Work with modern mobile frameworks for the evolution and the modernization of the client’s insurance mobile application, based on business needs and technical feasibility
Design end-to-end mobile architecture including front-end, middleware, and backend integrations
Ensure compliance with enterprise security, data privacy, and regulatory standards.
Provide architectural governance and mentorship to development teams throughout the SDLC
Follow best practices for mobile application architecture and implementation
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience in software architecture with focus on mobile applications
Proven experience in architecting, designing, and implementing both native (iOS/Android) and hybrid mobile applications
Strong understanding of mobile frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin, and Xamarin
Experience with API design, microservices, and cloud integration (Azure preferred)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and mobile app deployment processes
Experience with implementation of secure mobile applications, following best practices
Experience with implementation of mobile applications in compliance with regulatory requirements
Experience in the insurance or financial services sector is highly desirable
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with bank systems or similar large-scale financial institutions
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
