Job Description
The project finance lead would be the finance business partner to the Program/ project managers of Cambridge Life Sciences systems responsible for > $150 Mn in annual revenue. The primary role is to translate the project team inputs into financial insights for planning and reporting purposes. You will provide financial and analytical support for the operations and sales activities within the division and be a critical part of the finance function.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business planning and support:
Finance lead for all project finance related topics - Revenue forecasting, Budgeting, cost overview, R&O
Responsible for projects with 100-150 Mn in annual revenue
Part of the project review meeting to oversee project progress
Support preparation of the divisional annual budgets, forecasts and long-term plans as required. Identify areas of risk within business plans. Prepare an Executive summary of the business plan for the division for the Executive Team.
Work with the Controller of the division to develop and implement a performance measurement. system for the division, including implementation of the ATS Scorecard at the division.
Perform tasks assigned by members of the Executive Committee and Corporate Finance in accordance with specified schedule.
Other day-to-day business support tasks as required
INTERNAL CONTROLS AND COMPLIANCE:
Plan, organize, direct and control the financial reporting, accounting and general financial affairs of the division.
Maintenance of the accounting records in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
Ensure the safeguarding of company assets.
Maintenance of the internal controls memorandum, a document outlining the operational controls in place at the division.
FINANCIAL REPORTING AND ACCOUNTING:
Review operational results for projects. Interpret and communicate financial results through the use of the standard financial reporting package, as distributed by the Corporate Finance department, in accordance with the schedule provided. Ensure that divisional financial results are explained completely and accurately, with variances explained and areas of risk identified.
Responsible for ensuring that the Cambridge Systems Division financial reporting is in accordance with Canadian GAAP.
Responsible for preparing audit working papers on a quarterly basis, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled.
Develop and/or prepare specific financial analysis as assigned by Controller, Corporate Finance, or Division General Manager for the effective management of the division and interpretation of results.
HUMAN RESOURCES:
Develop and train personnel, not only to satisfy reporting and control requirements, but also to ensure proper succession planning.
Work with team to set objectives and monitor performance throughout the year through the use of scorecards and performance appraisals.
Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
Health, Safety and Environmental

Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
Attend all required health, safety and environmental training
Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
Assist in investigating accidents/incidents·
Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
Qualifications
Education:
A post-secondary diploma or degree specializing in accounting, finance or equivalent. A professional financial designation such as CA, CPA, CMA or CGA is a plus.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years experience in corporate finance. Manufacturing / cost accounting experience will be a plus. Individual must have an ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with people at all levels of the organization both verbally and in written form. Experience with PC based accounting systems and software tools are required. In addition, an ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance in a team oriented work environment is mandatory. Strong analytical, financial and accounting skills as well as an ability to significantly contribute to the management of the division are keys.
