Your role:
Managing the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data entry and recording of other financial transactions to support internal and external financial reporting.
Preparing internal and external financial reports for various stakeholders, including combining data from multiple systems, performing detailed general ledger review, preparing financial reconciliations, conducting reasonability reviews, and providing commentary to the Controller.
Assisting in the preparation of annual partnership return and supporting schedules, corporate tax returns, and other compliance filings as required.
Assessing current accounting operations and internal control systems, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes or tools to streamline internal accounting operations.
Developing an in-depth understanding and hands-on knowledge of our time and billing system as well as internal accounting system to support the firm and departmental staff.
Providing leadership and direction to team members to ensure completion of data entry and accounts payable tasks by designated deadlines
Ongoing training and mentoring of our internal accounting team members
Other duties as assigned
What you bring to the table:
Chartered Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or equivalent
5+ years of senior accounting experience (public practice experience is an asset)
Strong understanding of accounting for small to medium sized businesses
In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software (specifically Excel) and an introductory level knowledge of Co-Pilot, Power Automate, and other Microsoft apps would be an asset
Extensive experience with standard accounting tools like QBO, with a preference for experience with enterprise-level systems like Microsoft Dynamics/Business Central
Cash management experience including cash flow monitoring and payables management
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage a demanding workload with multiple individual deadlines while also supporting team deadlines
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to handle data with professionalism and a high level of confidentiality
Experience supervising junior team members, assigning and reviewing their work, providing constructive feedback, and helping them develop through ongoing coaching and mentoring

Salary range:
$90,000 - $105,000 per annum
