Canadian Tax has an excellent development opportunity available for a Tax Analyst Co-op Student. We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical and accounting skills who has an interest in tax issues. The successful applicant will be part of a product tax team and will learn about the basics of insurance, insurance product tax and personal income tax reporting. They will experience working on a team, the dynamics of a project and learn to prioritize work within tight deadlines. Primary purpose of this role: The successful applicant will be part of a team dedicated to providing tax oversight, account reconciliation and ensuring accurate tax slip and related reporting for the Institutional business. Essential Responsibilities: · Analysis, testing and other reviews to ensure accurate tax slips and tax authority filings for annual tax slip projects · Analyze and reconcile tax accounts · Update tax procedures and documentation · Assist with other projects Required skills and qualifications: · Self-starter with attention to detail and accuracy, · Excellent problem solving and analytical skills · Knowledge of financial reporting and account reconciliations · Strong interpersonal and communication skills · Organizational skills with the ability to manage tight deadlines. · Proficiency using MS Office · Ability to work independently and within a team environment · Working toward a Post Secondary degree in Business/Accounting Asset: · Completed University tax course When you join our team: We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
