Job Description
This 14 month contract position is responsible for supporting our retails stores, Central Operations and Home Office employees and providing efficient and timely processing of HR transactions. This role is responsible for providing high-quality service, reviewing and processing of HR paperwork, and providing support for various HR programs ensuring that policies, procedures and programs are administered accurately. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all customers, employees and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.
Major Responsibilities:
Review and processing of employee data changes including new hires, terminations, status changes and LOA’s and ensuring employee records in ADP are accurate.
Administration of company Group RRSP & Benefit plans including; enrollments, change requests and terminations as well as leave of absence benefit letters and coordination of benefit payments.
Maintain various HR electronic systems including ADP, Canada Life and Desjardins.
Provide timely and accurate responses to inquires related to HR policies, benefits and other HR programs.
Completion of employment verifications as required.
Register and manage enrollments for JHSC training program.
Assist with planning and executing HR engagement programs.
Administration of the Employee Referral program including database management, referral letters and coordinating referral rewards to eligible employees.
May be required to assist WSIB Claims Administrator regarding workplace accident/injury reports and return to work processes.
Organize and maintain files of confidential or sensitive information.
Maybe requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
Qualifications
Typically requires completion of a university degree with an emphasis in Human Resources or Office Administration plus a minimum of 3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Above average interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Superior customer service skills.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Strong number and clear reasoning skills.
Superior time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Positive, team-oriented attitude.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and solve problems.
Ability to handle confidential materials in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
Reliable, responsible and adaptable to change and learning new tasks.
Ability to handle complaints and communicate calmly and professionally.
Fluency in both official languages would be considered an asset.
Work & Sensory Environment:
Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
Performing extensive and repetitive data entry.
Possible exposure to eye strain from computer terminals.
Exposure to distractions caused by open office noise and frequent interruptions.
