As the Parts Shipper, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the shipping processes within a busy manufacturing facility. Responsibilities of this roles involve preparing outbound shipments, ensuring all shipping records are complete and accurate. To excel in this position, you will have a strong level of attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Location: 63 Morton Avenue East, Brantford ON
Dedicated Day Shift: 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday – Friday (Flexibility to start early or stay later as business requires)
Job Duties
Prepare and package shipments, ensuring accuracy of product and paperwork
Create and print shipping labels and documents as required
Store items waiting to be shipped in designated locations by using a counterbalance forklift
Safely & continuously operate & perform daily inspection of a propane counterbalance forklift
Follow safety protocols and wear prescribed personal protective equipment to prevent injuries
Load, unload, move and pack products and materials by hand or with material handling equipment (Forklift, Overhead Crane)
Skills and Experience
Adapt to a changing work environment, completing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
Physical requirements include the use of strength such as pulling, pushing, lifting and/or moving objects during the work, as well as standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending.
Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.) when working outside.
Qualifications
Previous responsibility for the Shipping function within a heavy manufacturing environment
Experience operating a crane and forklift, or willingness to learn
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
Familiarity with industry standards, practices and compliance regulations
