The Business Clerk will report to the Clinical Manager and will work as part of the interdisciplinary team with the program. This position will have specific responsibilities within the EF4 Unit. As a member of the healthcare team, provides clerical, administrative, or business supports to patients, families, and those providing service and/or care as well as other duties assigned. The Business Clerk must be highly motivated, organized, self-directed, and be able to respond to ever changing staffing conditions as needs.
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent office experience
- Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which may be subject testing
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook/MS Exchange, PeopleSoft Time and Labour data entry, Meditech, Sovera
- Proficient Keyboard skills (40 wpm)
- Previous experience in staff scheduling (within the last 2 years) including demonstrated ability to interpret and consistently apply human resources policies and procedures, and collective agreement language
- Experience with processing doctors orders preferred
- Demonstrated mathematical skills related to payroll and budget documents
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve problems
- Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, organize, establish, prioritize and meet deadlines
