Reporting to the Director, Design and Engineering Services the Senior Electrical Engineer will play an integral role on the Design and Engineering Services team supporting a diverse portfolio of projects across Canada in the Buildings and Industrial business units. This position will be based out of the Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver or Toronto office dependent on the successful candidate’s residence. What you will be working on Technical reviews of electrical drawings and specification packages for missing information on design and code-related issues. Collaborative work with design and trade partners and pre-construction/construction teams. Alternative design strategy recommendations for consideration by our design partners and project team. Cost saving strategies relating to electrical systems design and operation. Active participation in all phases of assigned projects from the pursuit phase to project close-out. What We Are Looking For Bachelor of Science (Electrical Engineering), Bachelor of Engineering - Electrical or equivalent university degree required Registered Professional Engineer designation with a Canadian Professional Engineering Association required (APEGA or EGBC) Minimum 15 years consulting experience in electrical building systems design Experience in projects delivered under collaborative contracts such as Progressive Design-Build, Construction Management, Integrated Project Delivery and Alliance required Working knowledge using Procore, BIM, Revit, Revisto and Navisworks Experience in complex projects valued over $200M required, over $500M preferred Construction administration experience considered an asset LEED certification and/or experience designing buildings with CaGBC’s Net-Zero Building Design/Performance Certifications considered advantageous Effective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills; thoughtful, proactive and creative Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups Strong written and oral communication skills Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Willingness to travel We Put Safety First A healthy and safe work environment is non-negotiable.
