Position Summary:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Processor 1 is responsible for ensuring the products scheduled for production are produced as per the proper recipes and formulas and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up decks and equipment for product runs and changeovers per cook sheets, ensuring safety, quality, and production standards.
Pre-scaling ingredients as per cook sheets accurately and efficiently without assistance
Monitor processing activities against production schedule and update QC, Maintenance and Supervision on progress as needed
Ensuring all QC protocols are in place and completing all required documentation (including daily records) accurately and on time
Inspect equipment, initiate sanitation protocols, and maintain sterilization, sanitation, and housekeeping standards per SSOPs.
Ensuring all standards for sterilization, sanitation & housekeeping as per Company SSOP's are met
Assisting in training as required to ensure proper production SOP's. GMP's, equipment and Health & Safety Standards are met
Carry out timely and effective line handover between shifts, including the completion of proper documentation and accurate briefing on progress/issues
Participate in product trials, customer audits, and integrate plant, quality, safety, and security policies into daily operations.
Delegate tasks effectively, train new employees.
Perform tasks on time and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Be the main contact for the processing department when Supervisor is absent
All other work as assigned by duly authorized Supervisor or Team Leader
Processor 1 duties ONLY:
Execute modifications (without assistance) to ensure batches produced conforms to specifications
Implement changes/adaptations to formula and/or process as per written instructions without assistance
Batch/process for product trails as required
Delegate and work with Processor 2s or Team Workers to perform tasks of the processing floor
Education and Experience:
2 years of Production or Processing or equivalent experience is required
1 year of Ventura Food Experience
Must be able to perform one of the two: D53/D54/D55 & Pre-weigh OR D75 & Pre-weigh
Must be able to perform one of the two: D56 & D59 OR D77 & D61
Must be able to perform one of the three: D61 & D70 OR D60 & D70 OR D71
Knowledge and Skills:
Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors as a Quality Focused, Service orientated team player
Solve problems independently as per standard guidelines and procedures
Written skills for document completion and use
Oral & written communication to give and understand work instructions (both written & verbal)
Working with others, problem solving, critical thinking, continuous learning, finding information
Significant use of memory

Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day. Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required. Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements. In addition, certain jobs may require employees to:
Work outside and/or in adverse temperatures which could include extreme heat, cold, and humidity;
Be exposed to vibrations, chemicals used in operations, fumes and food allergens (may include soy, dairy and other allergens); and
Be required to work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet.
