A select number of positions require full-time in office attendance
As a key senior member of the in-house legal team, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to internal clients, providing strategic and practical legal guidance to help the organization manage risk and achieve its business objectives. You will take a leading role in complex matters, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our legal processes and best practices.
What you'll be doing:
Draft, review, negotiate and finalize intellectual property, technology and services contracts for our various business units, including:
Services agreements;
License agreements;
NDAs;
Intercompany agreements; and
Corporate documents and various related legal documents.
Provide proactive, business-oriented legal advice to support strategic initiatives, transactions, and product development.
Take ownership of complex or sensitive matters requiring seasoned judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with business priorities.
Perform and oversee discovery and due diligence of various electronically stored or physical data in preparation for litigation, transactional work, financing, audits or M&A transactions.
Identify opportunities to streamline legal workflows and improve internal templates, processes, and playbooks.
Draft or oversee the drafting of cease-and-desist letters and conduct due diligence on various databases namely in view of UDRP or URS arbitration proceedings or litigation.
Support, mentor, and provide guidance to junior legal team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
What you'll need to be successful:
Must haves:
Member of Quebec Bar with 5+ years’ experience in commercial, technology, or intellectual property law.
Bachelor's degree in law or the equivalent.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with representatives of various business units at all levels, qualifications and personalities.
Bilingual (French and English).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including questioning and listening skills) in English
Strong organizational and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple complex files independently.
Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.
Ability to work under pressure and across different time zones.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Nice to haves:
Knowledge of Common Law or experience supporting common law jurisdictions.
Prior in-house experience in a global, technology-driven environment.
