Job Summary
The Staff Accountant – Revenue and Receivables is responsible for ensuring that revenue is properly recorded and collected on a timely basis.
Main Responsibilities
Invoice, record revenue, collections, and monitor accounts receivable for the following:
Advertising
Suite rentals
Suite licenses
Meeting room rentals
Arena rentals
Tenants
All other daily/monthly/quarterly invoices for each company
Record and post all cash and credit card receipts
Maintain general ledger accounts relating to revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled amounts, accounts receivable, and allowance for doubtful accounts.
Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis
Respond to customer inquiries and maintain good customer relations
Monitor AR Aging reports and proactively follow up on overdue payments
Works collaboratively with the Corporate Sales Department and other departments to proactively manage and resolve business and operational issues in an innovative, efficient and effective manner
Responsible for internal invoices/allocations and analysis of GL accounts
Responsible for certain reporting to the NHL
Assist with special projects
Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Revenues & Receivables
Job Requirements
Minimum of 2 years previous experience in accounting with an emphasis on accounts receivable and collections
Post-secondary diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
Previous customer service experience
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Working knowledge of general accounting principles and online banking systems
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail
Desire to continuously optimize processes
General awareness of PCI standards pertaining to security of credit card information
