Senior Financial Analyst – Fund Reporting
Contribute to fund reporting and financial analysis in a hybrid contract role within the insurance industry. Located in Toronto, this position offers exposure to mutual funds, regulatory submissions, and cross-functional collaboration. Ideal for professionals with accounting experience and a strong grasp of fund operations.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $35-40 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $45-48 per hour.
• 6-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
• Hybrid work: 3 office days, from Tuesday to Thursday.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly and quarterly fund reports, including ad hoc invoice payments.
• Complete industry surveys and regulatory submissions.
• Assist with compiling management reports and fund performance documentation.
• Participate in four annual reporting cycles, each requiring 2–3 days of focused analysis.
• Review and validate fund expenses and invoices.
• Manage fund expense allocations and calculate management expense ratios.
• Send accounting entries to NAV agents.
• Produce internal and regulatory reports, including Management Report on Fund Performance twice a year.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Financial Reporting, and Accounts Payable teams.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to gather and validate reporting data.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related financial discipline.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of IFRS is an asset.
• Experience in the financial industry or asset management is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and critical thinking ability.
• Capable of working independently and managing priorities effectively.
• Ability to apply accounting principles to daily tasks.
