Reporting to and under the direction of the VP, HOOPP Compliance Officer, the Senior Director, Enterprise Compliance will be accountable for the delivery of key milestones and medium and long-term build-out of Compliance capabilities based on an assessment of areas for enhancement. This is a new position in the organization that requires leadership skills and a well-honed partnership mindset to manage expanded Enterprise Compliance responsibilities and to develop the Enterprise Compliance framework to meet rapidly escalating technology, regulatory and environmental change. The incumbent will develop and foster strong relationships within all other parts of HOOPP and will build and maintain an effective and efficient network at a variety of levels in the organization. They will also build strong relationships with peers and thought leaders in the industry, regulators, and other relevant external parties. What you will do: Analyze new and pending laws, regulations and industry commitments that affect areas of responsibility, ensuring that relevant issues and organizational risks are identified and raised for consideration by management in formulation and revision of policies, procedures and other control measures for regulatory compliance. Provide advice and influence internal stakeholders on implementation of solutions aligned to regulatory risk appetite based on an understanding of business operations and stakeholder needs. Compliance representative on senior leadership level working-groups on regulatory risk and regulatory change. Provide advice, recommendations, and assistance in maintaining policies, procedures, training, and communications. Provide appropriate responses on Enterprise Compliance issues and breaches. Lead communications about Enterprise Compliance team initiatives. Oversee effective review of, response to, and follow-up on regulatory inquires and/or potential issues, and ensure effective reporting to management and liaison with regulators. Prepare for and manage regulatory processes, including reports and preparation for thematic examinations. Maintain and enhance HOOPP’s Compliance Management System (i.e. ComplySci) and procedures for management of compliance-related requirements and analysis including personal trading, gifts & entertainment, personal conflicts, anti-corruption and compliance acknowledgments and certifications. Lead the processes and reporting for HOOPP’s regulatory compliance mapping process relating to HOOPP-relevant regulations, legislation and controls. Lead initiatives to streamline processes by automation and evolving systems, controls, monitoring, testing and additional procedures required to maintain Enterprise Compliance requirements. Maintain and enhance compliance data sources, analyze/review compliance data and associated data with a view to developing advanced compliance metrics and thresholds. Act as lead with respect to the development and delivery of Enterprise Compliance reporting to Senior Management and/or the Board. Collaborate with Risk and Audit groups and other Divisions on Enterprise Compliance incident reporting and review processes. Act as Enterprise Compliance lead with respect to applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify potential compliance risks, automate compliance tasks and provide insights into compliance data. Act as the Compliance lead with respect to establishing compliance requirements for HOOPP operating entities in other jurisdictions. Collaborate with HOOPP Thames Limited (HTL) legal and compliance staff on continuing to maintain a HTL Compliance program that satisfies all regulatory requirements. Provide advice, recommendations and assistance in interpreting and applying HTL’s Compliance program. Lead the development and/or enhancement of Compliance training to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, risk management and best practices. What you bring: Qualifications in business or law and/or relevant compliance officer designations. Additional certifications in relevant areas (e.g. CFA). Relevant work experience, including experience in dealing with Canadian pension regulatory agencies or with other similar regulatory agencies.
