Position Summary
The Operations Support/Receiving Clerk – is responsible for managing the receipt, verification, and organization of all consumable goods, parts, and supplies used in plant operations. The position ensures that all items are received accurately, stored properly, and distributed efficiently to support daily production and maintenance needs. From 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, this role transitions to operating the Scalehouse, maintaining accurate load documentation and compliance with environmental and operational standards.
Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm
Primary Responsibilities
1.Receiving & Verification (Consumables)
Receive incoming consumables, parts, and supplies, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report variances to the Operations Supervisor.
Record received items into the consumables inventory log or designated tracking system.
Label, tag, and store materials following FIFO (First In, First Out) standards.
Maintain documentation for all incoming deliveries and ensure proper filing for audits and internal reporting.
- Inventory & Stock Management
Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure consumables are available to support maintenance and operations.
Conduct weekly stock checks and assist with monthly reconciliations.
Track and report low inventory items to the Operations Supervisor.
Organize and maintain storage areas to meet cleanliness and accessibility standards.
Support the return or replacement process for defective or incorrect goods.
3.Documentation & Communication
Match all receiving documents with corresponding purchase orders for submission to Accounts Payable.
Ensure receiving logs are updated daily and support procurement cost tracking.
Communicate effectively with the Operations Supervisor, maintenance staff, and vendors to resolve delivery or quality issues.
Maintain proper documentation for compliance and recordkeeping.
4.Scalehouse Operations (3:00 PM – 5:30 PM)
Operate the Scalehouse system to accurately weigh and record all inbound and outbound loads.
Verify shipping and receiving documents.
Coordinate with the Yard Coordinator to assign unloading and loading zones.
Record and reconcile daily load data, ensuring compliance with ECA and company reporting requirements.
Maintain a safe and professional environment for all drivers and visitors entering the facility.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Follow all PPE and safety procedures when unloading or handling materials.
Ensure proper segregation and storage of hazardous consumables in accordance with WHMIS and ECA requirements.
Conduct daily visual inspections of the receiving and scalehouse areas to identify potential hazards.
Participate in monthly inspections, including spill kits, eyewash stations, and fire extinguishers.
Report all incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions to the Operations Supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in receiving, warehouse, or logistics operations.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or ERP data entry.
Valid forklift experience (asset).
Excellent communication skills and a safety-first mindset.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
