EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Completion of 2 year college diploma in Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning with CFC Certification Minimum of 5 years of related maintenance and operational experience on building environmental systems and services CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulatedCurrent Ontario Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certificate cardTSSA 4th class Operating/Power Engineer Certificate is an assetKNOWLEDGE First Aid Computers (PC based) Modern building, mechanical and electrical systems Plumbing, HVAC systems Electronic and pneumatic controls Air handling systems Welding, brazing and soldering Preventative maintenance procedures Safety procedures Municipal and Provincial Health & Safety and Fire Regulations D.D.C. Systems (Honeywell, Johnstons, Andover, Omeran and Landis & Gyr) Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems Read blueprints (Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Structural) Work effectively with others Write simple memoranda and maintain records on log sheets Write legibly Work independently with minimal supervision Ability to conduct repairs from elevated platforms Alertness dependability, initiative Aptitude for mechanics & D.D.C. controls Good physical condition WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing Driver’s License Requirement: A valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated You may initially be paid 95% of your starting rate of pay, in accordance with the collective agreement.
