THE OPPORTUNITY
Varicent's Sales Planning software empowers organizations to design and
implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies by optimizing market coverage,
monitoring sales performance, and enabling proactive adjustments to enhance
sales team effectiveness. It offers features such as visual maps territory
design, predictive intelligence, and collaborative quota allocation workflows,
ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and maximizin revenue potential.
THE TEAM
As a Senior Software Developer (Full Stack) for the Sales Planning team, you
will be joining a remote, cross-functional team of designers, product managers,
and software engineers dedicated to revolutionizing how sales organizations
execute go-to-market strategies for unparalleled success. You will work on
enhancing a rapidly growing modern SaaS product: a single-page web application
built in React, connecting via GraphQL to a serverless backend deployed to AWS.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Envisioning, designing, and developing a web application using modern web
application and cloud deployment technologies.
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and
coding standards.
- Conducting thorough testing of software components, identifying and resolving
bugs, and ensuring the product's reliability.
- Optimizing code and architecture to ensure the product can scale and maintain
performance.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product
managers, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of software
modules.
- Focusing on client success through creative problem-solving.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Required Technical Skillset
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of strong software development skills using TypeScript, JavaScript,
React, and Node.js.
- Experience with micro-services architecture, GraphQL, Apollo, Docker, and AWS
services (Lambda, Aurora, RDS, ECS, Step Functions).
- Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, PostgreSQL).
- A passion for building high-performance, scalable systems in the Cloud.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
- Experience with test-driven development, continuous delivery and continuous
integration
Preferred Technical Skillset
- Knowledge of or experience with generative AI models (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic
and Gemini models)
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and AI evaluation methodologies.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Cursor, Github Copilot)
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker,
Kubernetes).
Collaboration and Communication
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
FIRST 30 DAYS: GETTING STARTED
- Get acquainted with the company's development environment, coding standards,
tools, and processes.
- Understand the codebase by reviewing existing code, documentation, and
possibly pair programming with senior developers.
- Start developing features for the product.
- Gain proficiency in the technologies and frameworks used in the company's
projects.
- Attend Agile rituals, understand the product roadmap, and contribute ideas
during the planning phase.
- Collaborate with team members, ask questions, and learn from experienced
developers.
FIRST 60 DAYS: BUILDING MOMENTUM
- Start contributing to more complex features or modules under the guidance of
senior developers.
- Take on tasks with less supervision, demonstrating increased confidence in
your coding abilities.
- Develop skills to independently troubleshoot and debug issues that arise.
- Gain a deeper understanding of the system architecture and how different
components interact.
- Begin sharing your knowledge with other developers, helping to create a
collaborative learning environment.
FIRST 90 DAYS AND BEYOND: HITTING YOUR STRIDE
- Take ownership of complete features or modules, from design to deployment.
- Assist in making technical decisions, suggesting improvements, and helping to
set coding standards.
- Develop skills to optimize code for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies and apply them
when relevant.
- Contribute to discussions about architecture improvements, scalability, and
security.
- Propose innovative solutions and ideas to improve processes, tools, or
products.
