The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for the organization and maintenance of the parts room and the tool crib. This position assists the maintenance mechanics and technicians by providing them with the tools and parts necessary to complete their projects. The coordinator will also be held responsible for maintaining inventory by ordering and stocking parts as necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and organize the maintenance parts area and the tool crib. Order requested items and log entries in the allocated software programs. Release or issue parts from inventory system. Stock inbound parts in allocated bins or shelves. Take daily or weekly cycle counts of the inventory items in the maintenance parts area. Assist all maintenance and engineering personnel locate and record all parts used. Retrieve requested parts from suppliers with company vehicle. Communicate with the parts room supervisor at all times. Evaluate and make recommendations / suggestions to make the parts room a more efficient operation. Maintain daily logs, produce and distribute maintenance reports as required. Prepare packages for out bound shipping, including labeling. Communicates daily with outside vendors to make sure all parts are ordered and delivered within expected time. Works with Planner/Scheduler to make sure all parts are ready and staged for all scheduled work orders. Ensure all purchase orders (POs) provided to vendors are documented and tracked to budget. Assume additional duties as directed by supervisors and members of management. Flexibility to work overtime and non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements: Education/Certifications and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Previous experience working in food manufacturing or a similar production environment, preferred. Some clerical background including: filing, typing, 10 key and data tracking. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient use of a computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software. Must be able to drive a forklift and successfully complete the Company’s mobile powered equipment training. A positive work attitude. Ability to produce and understand reports including but not limited to debits and credits. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity. Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases. Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse, and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis.
