Position Summary
The People & Culture Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture (P&C) function across Canada. This role provides administrative and operational support in areas including onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, payroll coordination, employee data management, and Vancouver office coordination. The P&C Coordinator will also support the Interim P&C Manager in the successful implementation of Workday and other key P&C initiatives.
This is a 14 month full-time fixed term contract role based in Vancouver, reporting to the Interim P&C Manager. The successful candidate will be able to work from home full-time with the expectation to work in the Vancouver office at a minimum of once a month to support in-office events/co-working sessions.
Role & Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the P&C team, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
Maintain employee records, documentation, and data accuracy across HRIS systems.
Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparation of Employment Agreements, conducting background checks, coordination of technology, benefits, and system access.
Respond to general employee inquiries related to HR policies, programs, and benefits
Benefits & Payroll Administration
Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations in the systems.
Support the Interim P&C Manager and Valeris Payroll Team on the administration of Canadian payroll, ensuring accurate and timely submission of payroll data, including new hires, terminations, leaves, and compensation changes.
Workday Implementation Support
Assist the Interim P&C Manager with data preparation, validation, and testing activities related to the Workday implementation.
Support training, communication, and rollout initiatives to ensure a smooth transition for Policy Reporter employees
Office Coordination (Vancouver)
Oversee the basic administration of the Vancouver office, including supplies, equipment, and facility coordination.
Act as the primary point of contact for office vendors and service providers.
Support local and virtual employee engagement initiatives and events. 
Skills & Qualifications
Bachlelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
1-3 years of experience in a People & Culture or Human Resources role.
Experience supporting payroll or HR data processes is an asset.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms (experience with Workday is an asset).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented mindset.
