Job Title: Senior Operations Enablement Manager
Reports to: Senior Manager, New Services & Change Management
Purpose of the Role
The Senior Operations Enablement Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific long-term programs, portfolios and/or large-scale projects which have a beginning, an end and specified deliverables. New products and/or services are seamlessly launched on time, at the right quality level and at the right cost. This role will oversee the plans, budgets and methodologies across a range of key programs and/or projects within a specific functional area/program.
This role may require occasional travel (up to 30%) and flexibility to work outside of standard business hours based on project demands.
Your responsibilities will include:
Program Oversight
Assessment of cost, impact and feasibility of requested program enhancements, as required, while balancing the benefits of the requirements against the costs
Participates in Internal Meetings and External meetings as required.
Facilitate continuous improvement processes.
Help to assess the broader impact of business on the Operations value stream and provide input on final recommendations.
Measure, monitor and assess reporting trends.
Communicate upwards and across all functions within the organization as required, updating key stakeholders of any issues in a timely manner.
Influence the short-term direction of the program while anticipating and planning for the long term.
Collaborating with multiple external/internal sources to ensure that best practices are understood and applied as applicable
Work with the leadership team to monitor program progress, ensure regular reporting on status, issues, risks and key decisions and introduce remedial action where necessary with functional leaders and project managers to keep the program on track and on budget (Provides budget/actual status)
Develop program plans and schedules ensuring that all functional project plans are properly developed to support the implementation of decisions that align with the overall program deliverables, all major dependencies are identified and tracked, proper communications and change management needs are identified, and appropriate direction is given on the application of the tools, methodologies and/or the management of the project.
Through formal and informal means, help the organization to become self-sufficient in effecting sustainable change through program / project management, communications and change management methodologies and monitors the change management process within the teams
Ensures program results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost
Development of program KPIs and SLAs as required
Definition, design and monitoring of reporting metrics
Strategic Planning & Implementation
Manage the implementation of new products, programs or services (concept to sustainability) that impact operations including the management of project integration, scope, time, cost, procurement, quality, communication, resources, and risks
Collaborating with multiple external/internal sources to ensure best practices are understood and applied as applicable
Prepare status reporting and Steering Committee materials
Work with project teams to gain common understanding of project timelines, milestones, and reporting
Create and/or manage project and program materials including project plans, issue/risk logs, project financials
Oversee the research and development of new products and services in the market.
Assess feasibility and create implementation timeline and plan to launch new products across all operations departments
Deliver on portfolio road map
Design and guide operational readiness assessments and activities
Create governance models and frameworks that support transparency and alignment across initiatives and departments.
Act as the primary change enablement lead for operational transformations (e.g., new workflows, org changes, processes, tech rollouts etc.)
Develop and execute change management strategies to support the adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working at program and portfolio levels.
Leadership Support
Support a team of Operations Enablement Managers and trainers to incubate and implement new services
Ensure plans are implemented in accordance with timeline and financial expectations and that any issues, challenges or deviations are escalated for resolution in a timely manner
Compose Briefing Notes, budgets, executive updates and external customer / stakeholder communications as required
Provide subject matter expertise to support areas
Provide cross-functional linkages for new products and/or services to be launched
Interface with strategic project governance process for prioritization and reporting
Conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
Set priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
Change Management & Business Readiness
Develop and lead change management strategies that align with organizational goals and project objectives.
Conduct impact assessments to identify affected stakeholders, systems, and processes.
Define change scope, timeline, and success metrics in collaboration with project teams and sponsors.
Identify and engage key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Develop and deliver clear, timely, and targeted communications to drive awareness and buy-in.
Facilitate feedback loops and incorporate stakeholder input into change plans
Partner with learning teams to develop training plans that build the knowledge and skills required for adoption.
Ensure frontline employees, leaders, and support teams are confident and capable of operating in the future state.
Monitor the rollout of change initiatives and support teams through transition phases. Identify resistance and execute mitigation strategies to support sustained adoption. Coordinate with project managers to ensure alignment between change activities and technical/project milestones.
Develop and execute change management strategies to support the adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working for assigned projects.
Ensure stakeholder alignment and readiness through clear communication, training plans, and success measurement.
What you bring to the role:
University Degree
Minimum of 8 years in a management role within the Laboratory industry.
Strong business acumen
Excellent facilitation and change management skills.
Ability to manage cross functional project teams
Monitors multiple cross-discipline projects within a functional area
Experience building and maintaining strategic relationships, both internal and external
Strong understanding of the OHIP Market and Funding model
Strong understanding of Non-OHIP processes
Strategic thinker
Advanced Excel skills
Strong track record of collaboration and effective negotiation
Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to influence at all levels and lead teams through change towards a common goal.
As a collaborator must maintain strong internal and external relationships
Serves as an ambassador for LifeLabs; responds to all requests for service.
Supports the provision of recommendations based on gathering all of the relevant information; expected to influence and execute decisions but the role does not make decisions.
