This role offers a unique opportunity to be the administrative and process expert for Position Management within our Human Resources section. You will also be instrumental in coordinating various inquiries, contributing to project work, conducting valuable research and analysis, and providing essential support to the leadership team. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to continuous improvement will directly impact our position management strategies and overall HR services.
What will you do?
Coordinate and track incoming inquiries and requests related to position management and classification
Serve as the process expert for Position Management, guiding business areas and providing advice
Implement strategies to optimize the position management system and enhance user experience
Assist the team with special projects by gathering and organizing data, identifying issues and discrepancies, formatting material and recommending solutions and improvements to information, tools and processes
Investigate and resolve historical position changes, initiating corrections as needed
Analyze position management and classification requests, identifying trends and recommending process improvements
Support the development/modification/updating of various standards, policies and procedures to support high-quality section services
Obtain data and prepare a variety of standard and/or customized reports
Conduct topical research and environmental scanning on position evaluation trends and best practices
Provide daily oversight and leadership to the position management team, including direct supervision of one team member
Support the onboarding process for new hires within the section, ensuring access to necessary tools and information
Completion of a two-year diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered
A minimum of 3 years of administrative experience, with a focus on HR processes or position management
Assets:
Certificate in Human Resources Management
Experience in a large, complex public sector organization
Familiarity with Privacy Legislation requests and related processes
Experience with budget monitoring and procurement tasks
Additional training or certification in project management
Skills required for success:
Knowledge: An understanding of position management practices, HR policies, and collective agreements
Ability: Independently manage a high volume of confidential tasks with tight deadlines, exercising critical thinking and sound judgment
