Why Mozilla?
Mozilla Corporation is the non-profit-backed technology company that has shaped
the internet for the better over the last 25 years. We make pioneering brands
like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser. Now, with more than 225 million
people around the world using our products each month, we’re shaping the next 25
years of technology and helping to reclaim an internet built for people, not
companies. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social media,
security and more. And we’re doing this while never losing our focus on our core
mission – to make the internet better for people.
The Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the non-profit 501(c) Mozilla
Foundation. This means we aren’t beholden to any shareholders — only to our
mission. Along with thousands of volunteer contributors and collaborators all
over the world, Mozillians design, build and distribute open-source software
that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.
About this team and role:
The role is part of the IT Function within the broader Mozilla Infrastructure
team. The IT team supports ERP Services, Workplace services, Service-Desk and
On-Prem DC Services across the organization aligned with the mission to build a
safe & secure internet. You will lead a team of workplace technologists within
the Workplace Technology (WPT) domain. Your primary focus will be on leading &
coordinating strategic and operational initiatives, with an emphasis on
collaboration & AI productivity tools, SSO, enterprise search and workplace
experiences with measurable outcomes. Ensure our workplace technologies are
reliable, secure, and cost-efficient services for the enterprise. You’ll work
closely with cross-functional partners to align priorities, share knowledge, and
deliver impact together. You will also be part of decision making for internal
technology choices and policy enforcement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate
deep curiosity and sound technical judgment, people management and stakeholder
collaboration skills to drive workplace outcomes.
Note: You don’t need to meet every listed qualification to be considered — we
value diverse experiences and learning potential.
What you’ll do:
Leadership & Strategy
- Own the Workplace Tech portfolio — Collaboration Suite & Enterprise GenAI
tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian, OpenAI/Claude/Gemini), AV/UC
(rooms, conferencing, telephony/VoIP/softphones), SSO/IAM, Enterprise Search,
and workflow automations.
- Define, implement, and operationalize Enterprise Service and Data
architecture to enable secure and efficient automated self-serve workflows
across the organization.
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team; set clear goals/OKRs, establish
SOPs/runbooks, and foster a culture of reliability, transparency, and
continuous improvement.
- Lead with clarity and collaboration: communicate a clear vision, invite
dialogue, and build consensus to move initiatives forward effectively.
- Be a key advisor to senior leadership on workplace technology risks,
strategies, and long-term planning.
Operational Excellence & Governance
- Lead operational excellence initiatives: define SLAs/SLOs/SLIs, instrument
health dashboards, and strengthen incident, problem, and change management
practices to reduce MTTR and prevent recurrences.
- Build and scale onboarding, offboarding, and mover workflows (API-driven)
across identity, access, devices, and collaboration tools — secure,
auditable, and fast.
- Establish and enforce data protection controls (DLP, classification,
retention, sharing policies) in partnership with Security, Legal, and
Privacy; manage exceptions and review cycles.
- Participate in the development and execution of enterprise security policies,
technology practices, and standards across Application, Endpoint, Data, and
Infrastructure domains.
- Partner and deliver on ISO compliance / GRC-related gaps and remediations in
the Workplace Technology domain.
Financial, Vendor, and Asset Management
- Own FinOps for the stack: usage metering, chargebacks/allocations,
forecasting, license right-sizing, and budget accountability; present
quarterly business reviews with data-backed decisions.
- Run vendor and contract management end-to-end (RFPs, evaluations,
security/privacy reviews, renewals, pricing negotiations, and consolidation)
to simplify the estate and optimize cost.
User Experience & Enablement
- Standardize the in-office and virtual collaboration experience: define room
standards, manage AV lifecycle, monitoring/alerts, and ensure quality hybrid
participation for events and all-hands.
- Define the enterprise search strategy and roadmap; integrate sources (Drive,
Confluence, Slack, etc.), tune relevance/permissions, and measure adoption
and time-to-answer.
- Launch new tools and capabilities safely: run pilots, oversee change
management, and lead user communications, training, and enablement for
measurable adoption outcomes.
- Partner closely with IT, Security, Workplace/Facilities, People Ops, Finance,
and Comms to align on priorities, roadmaps, and compliance obligations.
Your Professional Profile
Leadership & Strategic Impact
- 10+ years of progressive experience in developing and delivering a robust
workplace technology framework.
- Proven people leadership: managing managers/ICs, setting strategy and
roadmaps, and delivering reliable services at scale.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to drive long-term
organizational impact.
- Proven ability to translate vision into results — navigating ambiguity and
constraints with creativity, teamwork, and clear prioritization to meet
business needs.
- Ability to collaborate and influence a diverse group of stakeholders to
address cross-functional challenges and lead change.
Technical Expertise & Continuous Learning
- Strong understanding and deep knowledge of enterprise systems and services
with security and compliance best practices.
- Hands-on experience managing SaaS and UC platforms (Google Workspace, Slack,
Zoom, Atlassian) and literacy with SSO/IAM (Okta/Azure AD, SAML/OIDC, SCIM)
and workflow automation.
- Experience designing and running scalable onboarding, offboarding, and mover
processes and self-service experiences that “shift left” and reduce ticket
volume.
- Bias for automation and measurement: using APIs, scripting, and integration
platforms to remove toil and make data-driven decisions with SLIs/SLOs, CSAT,
and adoption metrics.
- Ability to develop incident Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and remediation plans
to resolve risk deficiencies working with respective stakeholder teams.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Track record enforcing data protections (DLP, classification, retention,
eDiscovery) and partnering with Security/Legal on policies, audits, and
exceptions.
- Strong understanding of security and compliance best practices across
enterprise systems and services.
- Ability to partner across teams to identify, prioritize, and close GRC or
compliance gaps effectively.
Financial & Operational Management
- Strong FinOps and vendor management acumen: usage analytics, license
optimization, cost modeling/forecasting, and confident contract negotiation
with major SaaS/AV providers.
- Program and change management expertise: crisp user communications, training,
enablement, and KPI-driven adoption of new capabilities (including GenAI)
with clear safety guardrails.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management; calm,
data-driven leadership during incidents and while steering strategic
trade-offs.
What you’ll get:
- Generous performance-based bonus plans to all eligible employees - we share
in our success as one team
