Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
Stations:
One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description
A Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist in heavy civil/transit construction is responsible for leading the full-cycle recruitment of professional staff for large-scale projects. The role requires a deep understanding of the construction industry's unique workforce demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the entire hiring process from initial sourcing and screening to offer negotiation and pre-employment requirements for both skilled trades and professional roles.
Collaborate with operations, project management, and leadership teams to forecast hiring needs and align recruitment strategies with organizational goals.
Develop and execute creative and data-driven sourcing strategies using job boards, social media, professional networking, industry events, and targeted outreach to attract a diverse talent pool.
Build and maintain strong pipelines of qualified candidates for high-volume and hard-to-fill positions, including specialized construction roles.
Ensure a positive and professional experience for all candidates throughout the entire recruitment process.
Track recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill and quality of hire to improve efficiency and inform leadership decisions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor market trends, industry best practices, and competitive compensation strategies in heavy civil construction.
Represent the company at recruitment events, post-secondary career fairs and community outreach to build the employer brand and strengthen long-term talent pipelines.
Qualifications
5-7 years of recruiting experience is required.
At least 3+ years of experience specifically within the construction industry, ideally in the heavy civil and transit sectors.
Proven ability to manage full-cycle recruiting, including experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
Strong experience developing and implementing innovative sourcing strategies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and partner effectively with hiring managers.
Experience in both field and professional/office recruitment is preferred.
