We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Administrator to join our RM Auto Group team. This position is located at our head office, Meidl Honda in Saskatoon.
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing all aspects of our payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, compliance with all regulations, and maintaining payroll records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll procedures, excellent problem-solving & interpersonal skills, and a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy. A background in accounting, in addition to payroll experience would be considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including calculating wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
- Prepare and submit payroll for approval in accordance with established deadlines.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare and file payroll reports, including tax filings, year-end processing, and other necessary documentation.
Employee Management:
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in salary or benefits.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions in a timely manner.
Data Management:
- Maintain and update payroll software systems and databases to ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of payroll accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay current on payroll regulations and best practices, and educate management on any changes.
Daily General Accounting
- Daily cash reconciliation and deposits.
- Invoice processing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification or working towards this certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll software including proficiency with Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Experience with software such as MS Office and PBS is considered an asset.
