PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As a Specialist, Income Tax, you’ll be a key player in our tax team—supporting income tax accounting, reporting, and compliance. You’ll collaborate across finance, tackle complex challenges, and help deliver high-impact results. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Canadian tax provision calculations under US GAAP
Prepare income tax disclosures for quarterly and annual external reporting under US GAAP
Prepare internal tax reporting, return-to-provision adjustments, and account reconciliations
Assist with Canadian and international tax compliance filings, audits, and documentation
Provide support to the U.S. tax team on compliance and reporting
Analyze financial transactions for tax implications and draft related disclosures
Maintain organized tax files and ensure SOX compliance
Respond to auditor and internal reviewer queries
Utilize TaxPrep and SAP systems effectively
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or other relevant fields;
Recognized accounting designation (CPA/CA/CMA/CGA);
Minimum 3 years income tax experience

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
