What is the opportunity?
Polar Asset Management Partners is an alternative asset manager established in 1991 and headquartered in Toronto. With teams in Canada, US, and the UK, managing strategies across equities, credit, commodities, rates and niche strategies we are committed to generating strong risk-adjusted returns.
Polar seeks to hire a Canadian Private Credit Investor within our Canadian Direct Lending Group. The successful candidate will work with the Strategy Lead to provide private credit solutions to primarily Canadian borrowers across the economy. They will lead the underwriting and due diligence processes, and support transaction origination efforts with potential borrowers. They will also support the development of junior team members.
What will you do?
Source and evaluate new investment opportunities
Perform investment due diligence and financial analysis
Produce industry and company specific research
Prepare complex financial models including cash flow analysis, debt sizing, and structuring
Compose and present investment committee memos
Prepare pitchbooks and transaction related documentation
Assist with management and monitoring of existing portfolio investments
Support with additional duties as deemed relevant by senior management
Who are you?
5+ years of relevant industry experience with direct experience in Canadian private credit underwriting
Bachelor's degree required, other certifications and / or a master’s degree beneficial
Solid quantitative, financial, and analytical skills
Impeccable integrity and trustworthiness
Self-motivated, creative, independent, and critical thinker
Good team player
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Dynamic and creative problem solver
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Able and willing to travel as required
